Anna Farrell (Director/Producer/Cinematographer) graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts ‘07 with an emphasis in cinematography and documentary film. As an undergraduate, her camerawork on This Light Rains (Wasserman-King Awards for Best Picture) was recognized with the Nestor Alemendros Award for Excellence in Cinematography. During 2009, Anna served as Artist-in-Residence with NW Documentary in Portland, Oregon. Her recent cinematography work includes short documentary content for The New York Times Magazine and the experimental feature The Adults in the Room (Sarasota Film Festival 2010), directed by Andy Blubaugh.
Anna Farrell and Matt Wolf (Wild Combination, Berlin 2008) recently co-directed A Ballet in Sneakers: Jerome Robbins and Opus Jazz, a companion documentary to NY Export: Opus Jazz. The film premiered at SXSW 2010 where it was recognized with the Emerging Visions Audience Award. A Ballet in Sneakers had its national broadcast premiere on PBS as part of the Great Performances/Dance in America Series in March 2010. Anna’s first feature, Twelve Ways to Sunday, was one of ten films to participate in IFP’s 2009 Documentary Filmmaker Lab and was selected for Spotlight on Documentaries at Independent Film Week’09.
Sam Farrell (Assistant Producer/Composer/Sound Design) started his career in the audio world at Kessler Media Productions, an Audio/Video post house located in Westchester County New York. During this time Sam was internationally recognized,
winning at The Communicator Awards for his radio documentary on Django
Reinhardt. He continues to produce music and sound design projects for motion pictures, television series, commercials, independent classical, folk and jazz albums as well as spoken word recordings. Sam is currently developing a podcast series highlighting street musicians from around the world. He lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
